Saturday, Jan 17, 2026. Program: 9 am.  Program: Gabriel Foley will give an update on the 2020-2024 MD-DC Breeding Bird Atlas Project results.  Location: Wharves of Choptank J.O.K. Walsh Visitor & Heritage Center, 3 Crouse Park Lane, Denton, MD.  After the meeting, please join us to play Wing Span from approx. 11 am – 3 pm.

 

Friday, February 13 - 16, 2026: The Great Backyard Bird Count. How to participate:  birdcount.org/participate

 

Saturday, February 14, 2026. Bird Sit. 8 am – 3 pm.  Co-leaders:  Tony Giaimo and Debby Bennett.  Location:  Outside porch of the Wharves of Choptank J.O.K. Walsh Visitor & Heritage Center, 3 Crouse Park Lane, Denton, MD.  Dress warmly and bring binoculars, drinks and food.

A bird sit is an outing in which participants observe birds together from a single location.  Results will be added to e-bird for the Great Backyard Bird Count.

 

Saturday, Feb 21, 2026. Program.  9 am. Danielle Ridgell – update on her Girl Scout Gold Award nesting bird box project & Austin Rapp - Report on Master Naturalist Pelot Sanctuary Trails Project.  Location: Wharves of Choptank J.O.K. Walsh Visitor & Heritage Center, 3 Crouse Park Lane, Denton, MD.

 

Saturday, March 14, 2026 – Bird Trip to Terrapin Park, 191 Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, MD 21666. (Rain Date: March 28).  Leader:  Danny Poet.  Meet in the Park’s parking lot at 8 am.

Saturday, May 30, 2026 – Bird Trip to Bombay Hook.  Leader:  Robin Davitt-Murphy.  Meet at Denton Walgreen parking lot at 7:45 a.m. to depart by 8:00 am to carpool, or meet at the Bombay Hook Visitor Center parking lot at 9:15 am.
